Aims and objectives The ENFSI EWG Firearms is the European organisation of experts in one of the most interesting disciplines of forensic science. - It combines scientific experience in the fields of firearms identification (FAID), firearms technique, gunshot residues (GSR) and scenes of crime reconstruction in firearms offences. According to the Terms of Reference (ToR), in compliance with the goals of ENFSI, world-wide associated members join in the annual meetings and the projects of the EWG Firearms. You can download the EWG Firearms Terms of Reference here:  Structure EWG Firearms was founded in 1995 in Rijswijk. It is governed by a steering committee. The current members of the Steering Committee are: - Bundeskriminalamt (Germany), represented by Dr. Walter Wenz, chairman
- Forensic Science Service (United Kingdom), represented by Mark Mastaglio, secretary
- Nederlands Forensisch Instituut (The Netherlands), represented by Rob Hermsen
- Institut de Recherche Criminelle Gendarmerie National (France), represented by Xavier Laroche
- Nationaal Instituut voor Criminalistiek en Criminologie (Belgium), represented by Dr. Jan De Ceuster
- National Bureau of Investigation, Crime Laboratory (Finland), represented by Lawrence Gunaratnam

The EWG Firearms consists of two subgroups: - firearms
- GSR (gunshot residues)
