- Digital Imaging School 2009
May 13-15, 2009, The Hague
The Digital Imaging Working Group is proud to announce the 2nd School on Digital Imaging which will be held in The Hague at the Netherland Forensic Institute. A draft agenda can be downloaded from here .
The school will be a full 3 days of teaching, with presentations as well as hands-on workshops (all in English); bringing a laptop will ensure a full learning experience. Every topic will be targeted at a beginner level audience, to allow participants to solidify the basics or to get started with any of the presented subjects that are new to them.
The fee is 100 €, with a maximum of 50 partecipants allowed. To attend the school, please fill the registration form and send it to Rikkert Zoun . Registration deadline is April 10, 2009.
Please note that the program is identical to that of last year, so those who did not attend in 2008 are the primary target audience and priority will be given to them.
- 9th Business Meeting

The meeting will be held at New Scotland Yard, 10, The Broadway, London SE1H 0BG. The meeting has a cost of 130 £, to be paid following the detailed instructions you can find in the above announcement. Full joining instructions with directions will be sent to all registered delegates.
A reservation can be made at The Union Jack Club , Sandell Street, London, SE1 8UJ . The rates are 45 £ per night. This hotel is in the centre of London and walking distance from New Scotland Yard. Questions, suggestions and ideas regarding the meeting can be sent to Johanna Morley as well as the WG Steering Committee members.

A draft program for the meeting that will be held in Ankara, Turkey, 7-10, October, 2008, is available for the download here as a DOC file. A fee of 220 Euro will be collected the first day. The fee includes coffee breaks and meals. The meeting venue is in the Radisson SAS Hotel, Istiklal Cad. No:20 Ulus, Ankara, Turkey. A reservation can be made if asked. Room rate is 64 Euro for Single Room and 75 Euro for Double Room. This rate is special for the meeting and valid for the reservation until 05 September 2008. Transportation details, as well as the subscription form for the meeting, can be found in the document.
 - The 8th ENFSIDIWG Business Meeting will be held in Ankara, Turkey, October 7-10, 2008.

Workshops should be considered as sessions where you can learn something that is not really new but potentially very useful. The first day will be used to discuss facial image comparison. The second and third day will be used to discuss topics as image processing and image analysis, photography, video technology, formats and codecs, authenticity and integrity issues. 5th ENFSIDIWG Business Meeting. This time, special attention was given to dealing with video from digitral surveillance systems: the influence from using different formats, codecs, viewers, and converters. - February 21-26, 2005, New Orleans
Annual Meeting of the American academy of Forensic sciences. One workshop, W11, was given on Forensic Image and Video Processing by Zeno Geradts (introduction), Richard Vorderbruegge (photogrammetry and facial comparison), Jurrien Bijhold (facial comparison), William Oliver (image processing), Bart Hoogeboom (3D-modelling), Lenny Rudin (advanced photogrammetry), and Carrie Whitcomb (QA aspects).A second workshop, W17, was given on SWGIT guidelines for acquiring, processing, analyzing, and archiving video and image data by Richard Vorderbruegge, Carl Krijger, William Oliver and Marc Shuman. A large number of scientific papers were presented in the engineering section on Thursday. - May 9-22, 2004, Prague
4th ENFSIDIWG Business Meeting. The program was a mixture of casework discussions, formal presentations and work on best practice manuals, collaborative tests, and other topics you want to discuss with the group. This time, special attention was given to crime scene photography for reconstruction of scenario's and 3d-visualization purposes, dealing with formats and codecs in digital media, facial comparison. prof. Friedrich Rösing (University of Ulm, Germany, forensic anthropologist) helped us with the organization of a workshop and training session for facial comparison. - September 22-27, 2003, Istanbul
EAFS 2003. The European Academy of Forensic Science Third Triennial Meeting was held on September 22-27 2003, in Istanbul, Turkey. EAFS 2003 Istanbul is an open forum activity of the European Network of Forensic Science Institutes (ENFSI), which consists currently of 49 laboratory systems located in 33 European countries. The Scientific Program comprises 26 sections representing the whole range of forensic specialties. For the Digital imaging section, 10 abstracts have been accepted for oral presentation and 5 for poster presentations! 3rd ENFSIDIWG Business Meeting. Main topics discussed: authenticity and integrity of analogue and digital video, and applications of photogrammetry and 3D-visualization. During the conference was decided to focus on three fields of expertise: image processing ( analogue and digital techniques for forensic investigations of photo and video material, photogrammetry and 3D-reconstructions, facial comparison and other biometric techniqus for identification of persons in images or video). - November, 2001, Madrid
