New ENFSI Expert Working GroupThe ENFSI Board has established a new Expert Working Group: the Animal, Plant and Soil Traces EWG. It is ENFSI’s 17th Expert Working Group. The EWG is chaired by Dr. Andreas Hellmann from the BKA in Wiesbaden. The APST EWG will have its first meeting on May 23-25, 2012 in Madrid. At the forthcoming Annual Meeting 2012 in Dublin, the APST-chairman will give a presentation to the ENFSI membership about this relatively new forensic discipline. |
Meeting European forensic archaeologistsThe Netherlands Forensic Institute and the British IfA Expert Panel are planning to jointly host a meeting for European forensic archaeologists in conjunction with the EAFS 2012 Triennial Conference to be held on 20 - 24 August 2012 in The Hague. ENFSI Annual Report 2011 is now availableThe ENFSI Annual Report 2011 is now available. This is ENFSI's third external annual report and is edited in a completely new and comtemporary style. The report - illustrated with a series of pictures - gives an overview of the main activities and the developments in 2011 within the ENFSI community and the contacts with external partners. ENFSI Annual Meeting - Dublin 2012The next ENFSI Annual Meeting will be held in Dublin on 23-26 of May 2012. The Thematic Part on Thursday will focus on the "Effectiveness of Forensic Science". New ENFSI-member from Hannover, GermanyAt its recent meeting in Vienna, the ENFSI board has accepted a new ENFSI member-institute. It is the Landeskriminalamt Niedersachsen - Kriminaltechnisches Institut from Hannover (Germany). The director of the institute Karsten Follert will be the member-representative. The Board’s decision was based on a recently performed assessment. ENFSI has now 64 members from 36 European countries. |
ENFSI Application for 2011 EU Monopoly Funds Submitted to the European Commission
On December 21, 2011 ENFSI submitted its formal application for the 2011 EC monopoly funds. The requested funding (Euro 646,931) will allow ENFSI to carry out the Monopoly Programme 2011 (MP2011) entitled “Improving Forensic Methodology across Europe”. Read more... |
2010 EC-ENFSI Monopoly Grant Agreement signed by ENFSI Secretary
On 19 of December 2011, Wim Neuteboom, the ENFSI Secretary, formally signed the 2010 EC-ENFSI Monopoly Grant Agreement. As a result, ENFSI Community can now officially launch Monopoly Programme 2010 entitled "Strengthening the Evaluation of Forensic Results across Europe". Read more... |
ENFSI Chairman Participates in 28th EA General Assembly to Discuss ENFSI - EA Cooperation
On 23 November 2011 around 100 people from around the globe met in Warsaw, Poland to attend 28th General Assembly of European Cooperation for Accreditation (EA). ENFSI Chairman – Paweł Rybicki was one of the participants. He was present there at the invitation of Mr. Graham Talbot – the Chairman of the EA. During the Assembly, Pawel Rybicki gave a presentation devoted to standardization of forensic sciences in Europe, which was enthusiastically received by the GA audience.
